Yesterday my tivo upgrade arrived. I got one of the upgrade kits from weaknees.com, a 300GB drive with the DirecTV TiVo software pre-installed. It took me about 10 minutes to do the physical transplant, then another 20 minutes of fixing settings and getting stuff downloaded from the satellite, calling for the program updates, getting my local channels set, etc. I still have to redo my season passes, but the whole thing took about an hour total I'd say.
And now my capacity is 284 hours. That's enough for the entire series of Buffy. Twice. It'll be nice to be able to keep a whole season of something so I can rewatch eps whenever I want. And I'll finally have enough space so I can get suggestions and not have it wipe out shows I'm saving.
Too bad I have like no time for actually watching TV these days. Oh, the irony...
