Pan's Labyrinth

Pan's Labyrinth - what a sad movie. Wondrous at moments, but too brutal for me to really like it as much as I wanted to.

And now I just know I'm going to have bad/weird dreams.

Yeah, it's definitely a very unapologetic movie but I think there is interpretation for a happy ending.

This just in: Generalissimo Francisco Franco is still dead. Um, anyway, I don't know all that much about Spanish history, but it was good to see the facists put down. As for happy ending, well, perhaps happy for the spirit of the Princess, but for everyone else it was still pretty ugly.

I fell in love with that little girl. I was devastated by the ending :(

LOL. Guess what we watched last night? And yeah, I agree with you. There were several instances where Casper and I were sitting there with our eyes closed, telling zortwife to tell us when a particular scene was over :)

Oh yeah, I had my hands blocking half the screen during a few scenes as well. I can't stand that kind of realistic gore.

The thing that I *did* like was how hard it was to tell if she was imagining everything or not. There were too many physical objects that bled over into the real world that I think favors the reading that her magical experiences were real. Either that or she was so far gone the whole thing happened in her head.
