About last night's new Battlestar Galactica episode... don't read if you don't want it spoiled.
This was, in fact, just the episodes I was waiting for. So well written! A few thoughts...
I'm shocked that they showed a suicide bomber as a hero. This is the first time I've seen that done anywhere. The whole occupation thing is way more gritty and controversial than the Bajoran occupation... so where is the controversy? I guess I'm tuned out of all the net buzz.
Lots of good stuff happened. I liked how they juxtaposed things. Like how the scene where Baltar signed the execution order was followed by the scene of Sharon's swearing-in. Each scene showed a betrayal of a different race and a shifting of allegiance, but in totally different ways.
I think what happened at the end is that Lt. Sharon took command of the Centurions that attacked the landing party rendezvous with the insurgents. Then they happened upon the impending execution, and Sharon had her Centurions attack the execution squad Centurions, saving the humans. I suppose the humans would have to kill the other human-form Cylons to retain control of the Centurions. I guess we'll see next week.
