My bedroom window looks right out onto a hillside. It's all covered in ivy and very close. When I stand and look out the window there's a big oleander bush about six feet away and at the level of my eyeballs. The hill goes up at about a 30 or 40 degree angle to somewhere over the level of my bedroom ceiling.

All this rain we've been getting has made me nervous. The hillside was excavated when they put in the condos, which means it doesn't follow the natural angle of repose. The ivy is the only thing holding that hillside together! After two months of almost non-stop rainstorms I've been having nightmares that the hill will liquefy and come through my window and I'll wake up under about six feet of mud.

Yes, I suppose I'd like to be Buffy, but waking up six feet under is not the way I want to do it.

Anyway, it looks like we're done with the apocalyptic deluge for now, so I can go to bed and have one less thing to worry about clobbering me in my sleep.
