From the internets: I had a professor once that told me that often he didn't even need to have another developer look at his code in order to debug it. 9 times out of 10 he would find the problem while explaining the code to the other developer. After realizing this, he saved time by simply explaining the code to his Cocker Spaniel, and 9 times out of 10 he found the bug.

It does help to talk out your intended logic in the code. :)
