Last night I found this cool Mensa intelligence test online.
I like how the test code gives you instant feedback on whether you got an answer right or wrong, and it's very clever how they check the answers - they have a SHA-1 hash for each correct answer, and compare a hash of your answer to that to see if you're right. That means they don't have to go consult with a server, but they don't have to expose the answers to prying eyes. Nice trick!
So far I've spent an hour or two working on it (there's no time limit), and I've gotten 30 out of 33 questions. Since getting only 19 right makes one a genius, I'm feeling super smart now. I think the cultural bias is pretty slanted (some of it against
me), but it still seems like an interesting test.
I haven't yet gotten answers to questions 8, 24, and 28. Don't
post answers here, but if you take it and want to share your score and which ones you got or missed, please do.
