A few months ago I wrote about how stupid elevators are designed, and suggested some improvements. I can't find the entry right now as my indexes are on my other Mac, but one of the things I thought would help would be to cluster riders by destination so the car could make fewer stops. Looks like someone thought my idea was a good one. Voila!

What a great application of neural network software. That's really good innovation, there.

My favorite part of the article, though, is the example they used of a person who was displeased with the system (the woman who, when asked to enter her destination floor, said "that's ridiculous!"). I mean, they might as well have said, "The only people who didn't like the system were complete morons." LOL
