I ate WHAT?
laziness rules

I've been having a lovely lazy day. Seems like a lot of my friends are running around like maniacs trying to complete last-minute shopping, cooking up a storm, traveling, etc. I got woken up early by my next door neighbor's loud sex noises at about 7am, so I ate some breakfast and watched tivo until I could go back to bed for a nap. Woke up for real at about noon and have been just dorking around for a few hours.

My step-mom is out of the hospital and is doing fine. My dad is much relieved.

I upgraded my iTunes to the new version (I was still on 4.x) so I could do videos and podcasts. First thing I downloaded was the Battlestar Galactica special that will air on SciFi just before the end of the season 2 hiatus. It's a good recap of the series history and has some teasers for the upcoming action. Gotta say I was a bit freaked out by Jamie Bamber's Brit accent, but it was neat to see people speaking out of character.

I got an invite to an xmas dinner at a friend's tomorrow night. I'm supposed to bring a dish to share. I'm an ignorant jewboy - aside from ham, what does one eat at xmas dinner? If it's pretty much a recycled Thanksgiving menu, should I make my mom's cranberries again?

I'm afraid a couple friends might be giving me holiday gifts. Maybe I should go pick up some iTMS gift cards, just in case. I need to venture out and buy some groceries - I wonder how crazy it will be out there?

Last night I grabbed a yummy dinner with lorenzosf at La Med, then we wandered about the hood for a bit. We spotted some xian evangelicals pushing jesus on passersby at 18th and Castro - they are so evil, using cute boys to lure in the poor, unsuspecting, godless homosexuals!

Oh yeah, I dreamed about Faith last night. That's what I get for watching the first 4 eps of season 3 before bed last night! At least she wasn't trying to kick my ass.

I'm sure your day tomorrow will be a lot of fun. My ex was jewish, and he loved Christmas (he wasn't orthodox) :-) In Australia we ate chicken (bbq grilled), and salad - but that might not work here. Green bean casserole could be something (easy too).

xmas in the middle of summer just seems wrong!

I think all jews secretly love xmas because it's a holiday where we don't have to feel guilty.

I'm going with candied yams. From what I gather, there will be two of us jews, a woman who was raised catholic but her mom converted to jehovah's witness when she was young, and a mix of assorted xians. I guess you can't go wrong with egg nog with lots of rum/bourbon/brandy.
