my big book of little catastrophes
I ate WHAT?

I just got my new fridge delivered. It has WAY more freezer space, which means I may have to start buying things to put in the freezer. It's nice that it has a built-in water filter, so my ice cubes will always be tasty.

The holiday weekend was just fabulous. Friday was low-key, which I needed after my chaotic week.

Saturday I caught a ride with saintmichael and his hubby down to Santa Cruz for yet another nearly perfect pool party. Got to see lots of old friends from the Cruz, and made a few new ones. The only ick moment was when the nasty troll kept staring at me when I was getting dressed after hottubbing. Now, I lived in Santa Cruz long enough that I'm very comfortable with hottub and beach nudity, but I still haven't gotten to the point where I can ignore an old lech obviously staring at me while I'm butt-naked. I finally glared at him enough that he sort of turned away and pretended he wasn't looking. I'm surprised that my basilisk gaze didn't cause his head to explode. I don't cut folks much slack when I'm tipsy. As Michael didn't want to leave as early as I did, I caught a ride back to the city with some other friends. That was nice, cause I got to share a back seat with this cute latin guy with the kind of accent that makes me melt. (He just called me earlier today to say he wanted to go get dinner sometime soon.)

Sunday I hung out with a gal-pal and ate veggie food and watched Outfoxed. I hadn't seen it before, but it was really worth watching. After the movie we turned on CNN and then Faux News for a few minutes each, and the contrast was staggering. CNN was reporting on how awful conditions were for NOLA refugees and how lame the government response was. FN was showing Condi Rice handing out food to a bunch of white folks in Alabama and the voiceover was saying, "while some have complained about the administration's poor response, these people have been very grateful blah blah blah."

Monday the weather was gorgeous, so I dragged saintmichael away from the depressing news and we strolled around the Castro admiring the cuties. We wandered over to Dolores Park and checked out the SF Mime Troupe show (I respect their art but I rarely find them entertaining).

Throughout the weekend I did a fair amount of geeking out, building a website for my dad, playing with blogging engines, and figuring out how to use Photoshop for doing web design. I finally gave up on doing text based menus in the header and instead will be using CSS sprites for a snappier look.

Oh yes, I've added a few friends recently. Welcome to sneeper, and congrats to allamericanjock, my 50th friend! You'll be receiving your gift basket soon.
