Very weird dream last night, full of action and drama. If you're not me this will probably bore you, because "nothing is a boring as other people's dreams."
It was a mashup of ordinary stuff and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. (And I haven't watched a Buffy rerun since Sunday. Go figure.) I had to go get a list of vitamins from various places to take for my eye, but I kept going to the wrong place or forgetting where I was supposed to be. I think I flew to Atlanta at one point. There were stale and half-eaten chocolate chip cookies all over the room as I checked to make sure I hadn't left anything behind. I don't know how I managed to get to the airport in time, but I guess I did.
Ended up in Pittsburgh at night. Some evil overlord sentenced me to death (I can't recall the reason why, but I think maybe we were enemies and he'd had enough of my interfering with his plans) and hired a vampire hit-man to off me. So a few vamps were chasing me out of the evil overlord's lair. I ran into the leader and he unrolled a newspaper and pulled out a katana with black handle and scabbard. I pulled a Wesley and said please I need to live, for just one more day. Come find me tomorrow and you can kill me then, but I have something I need to do before then. Being a vamp he had no compassion, so I appealed to his cruelty. I told him that if he let me go tonight it would give me the smallest glimmer of hope that he wouldn't kill me at all, and crushing hope was ever so much more cruel than killing someone resigned to it. That got him, so he let me go. Somehow in the threatening and begging I ended up holding his katana, so I took it with me and went home.
Home was an odd place, and I've never been in a building like that before. My cooking skills went awry, and I filled up the oven with water to heat it. The oven, not a pan. The water didn't leak out, but I couldn't figure out how to get the water out once it was hot. Just as I was trying to clean up the mess my mom rang the doorbell and wanted to come in. I tried to make her go away, but she wouldn't. Some other people showed up. Spike appeared, and was tormenting me getting ready to kill me. I ran into the other room to hide the katana, which I think was the intended instrument of my doom. I kicked it under the sofa, but the scabbard came off and was lying on the floor. Spike came in, and so did Angel. Spike grabbed the scabbard, but Angel got the katana from under the sofa. Spike was down on his knees, so I grabbed his arms to hold him there while Angel moved to behead him. I watched the blade fall in a perfect overhand arc to sever Spike's bare neck, and just as the edge touched him the blade turned in Angel's hand and struck him with the flat. It made a thwacking sound and bounced off. Apparently the blade was enchanted, and in Angel's hand it couldn't kill someone unless they were unworthy. Spike took this as a sign that he was a worthy soul and decided to become good and not kill me.
