would say I have a lot of skills on my character sheet. It's true though. Competitive riflery, horseback riding, scuba diving, flying trapeze, african drumming, origami, juggling, finger weaving, roller skating, sign language, stilt walking... there are a lot of odd things I've learned how to do over the years. But of all of them, the gayest is flagging
. I learned how from a master (in more than one sense of the word), and I had a good natural ability for it. It's unfortunate that I'm not enough of a club boy to spend the hundreds of hours of in a club practicing that it would take to get really good. I still enjoy it though.
This weekend some friends are going to be re-starting their old Sunday afternoon flagging parties in Golden Gate Park in the AIDS Memorial Grove. If the weather is decent it should be a fun way to spend the afternoon, not to mention a good shoulder workout. They used to have really good DJs for these things, and watching the flags go round and round is fun. I have really sucky flags, but there are always plenty of nice ones to share so I won't look like a total dorkass.
Anyone who wants to come along let me know, or just show up. 1-5pm, AIDS Memorial Grove, GG Park.
